Privacy Policy — AI Keyboard

Last updated: August 9, 2026

AI Keyboard is an iOS keyboard that translates the text you type into another language. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. In short: AI Keyboard shows no ads, requires no account, and the developer never stores or reads your text or builds a profile of you. The only analytics is anonymous install attribution for our ad campaigns, plus advertising cookies on this website — both described below, and neither ever touches what you type.

Translation engines

AI Keyboard offers three engines, which you choose in the app. They differ in where translation happens:

Chat Lens screenshots

Chat Lens is an optional feature you invoke from the keyboard. While its compact panel is open, AI Keyboard watches your Photos library for the new screenshot you take. Before upload, the keyboard removes the top chat header and the bottom area occupied by the compact keyboard, downsizes the remaining image, and sends that cropped copy over HTTPS to our Cloudflare proxy. The proxy forwards it to Google Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite to identify message bubbles and create three reply suggestions with translations. This happens regardless of which translation engine you selected.

Neither our proxy nor the app stores the uploaded image or Gemini's reply after the request completes, and the image is not logged or used by us to build a profile. Google processes it under the Google Privacy Policy and Gemini API Terms. Free users receive five successful Chat Lens requests. To prevent that allowance from being reset by a modified client, the main app uses Apple App Attest and DeviceCheck: Apple certifies an app-specific hardware-backed public key, and DeviceCheck stores one binary flag indicating whether this device has already received the free allowance. Our proxy validates these signals before issuing five opaque one-time tokens to the keyboard. We retain the hashed key association, issued-token records, and whether each token was spent solely to enforce this limit; we do not receive a device serial number or advertising identifier. Apple processes these checks under the Apple Privacy Policy. Pro subscribers send their signed subscription receipt instead and are not subject to the five-request product limit.

Your API keys

If you use the "your own key" engine, the API key for each provider is entered by you in the app and stored in a private app container (App Group) on your device, accessible only to AI Keyboard and its keyboard extension. A key is never transmitted anywhere except directly to its own provider's API as the authorization header for your own translation requests. Keys are not shared with the developer or any third party.

Subscriptions

AI Keyboard Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment, billing, and renewals are handled entirely by Apple under your Apple ID — we never see your name, email, or payment details. To verify an active subscription, the app and our proxy use the signed transaction that Apple provides and, where applicable, Apple's App Store Server API. We receive only a non-personal subscription identifier from Apple, used solely to confirm entitlement. See our Terms of Use for subscription details.

Full Access

The keyboard requests "Allow Full Access" only so cloud translation and Chat Lens can make network requests. Normal typing and the on-device translation engine work without Full Access. AI Keyboard does not log keystrokes, does not build a profile, and does not transmit what you type for any purpose other than fulfilling a translation you explicitly request.

Install attribution

To measure which ad campaigns bring installs, the app includes the AppsFlyer SDK. It collects a device identifier (Apple's identifierForVendor), basic device information, and app events: app opens, trial starts, and subscription purchases (price and currency). It never sees the text you type or translate. AI Keyboard does not show Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA) — campaign attribution relies on Apple's aggregated, privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork. This data is not linked to your name or email (AI Keyboard has no accounts) and is handled by AppsFlyer under its Services Privacy Policy.

This website

The free AI translator on this website sends only the text you explicitly submit to our Cloudflare translation proxy, which forwards it to Cerebras or Google Gemini and returns the result. The text and translation are processed in transit and are not logged, stored, used for training by AI Keyboard, or linked to an account. To prevent automated abuse, each connecting IP address receives ten successful web translations per 24-hour window. We store only a one-way hash of the address with the current counter; the raw address is not retained by AI Keyboard for this limit.

Before a web translation is accepted, Cloudflare Turnstile performs a mostly invisible human-verification check and processes browser and network signals under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. Most visitors do not need to interact with it; a challenge appears only when Turnstile considers interaction necessary.

getaikeyboard.app runs Google Analytics to count visits and Google's advertising tag to measure which ads bring visitors to the site, and it records anonymous page visits and clicks on the store buttons (a counter of visits per traffic source and day — no identifiers, no profiles). If you arrive from a Google ad, the click identifier (gclid) travels with you to the store link so that a resulting purchase can be attributed to that campaign. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy.

Visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before any analytics or advertising cookie is written; until you accept, Google Consent Mode keeps both disabled. Declining does not change anything about the website or the app. This section is about the website only — the keyboard itself sets no cookies and shows no ads.

Data we collect

Nothing you type is ever collected. AI Keyboard shows no ads and does not build usage profiles. Content leaves your device only when you explicitly invoke a cloud feature: selected translation text, an optional Reply Profile used to personalize suggestions, or a cropped Chat Lens screenshot. That content is processed in transit and never stored by AI Keyboard. The service also handles the non-personal receipt used to verify entitlement, App Attest and DeviceCheck proof and opaque token-spend records used for the Chat Lens free limit, and the anonymous install-attribution events described above.

Children

AI Keyboard is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
