Is AI Keyboard free?
Yes. On-device translation and using your own API key are both free, with no account. AI Keyboard Pro is an optional subscription for translating without your own key.
Is my text private?
On-device and your-own-key translation never pass through our servers. AI Keyboard Pro sends text to our proxy only in transit and never stores it. Message and translation content is not used for analytics or advertising.
Do I need an account?
No. AI Keyboard works with no account, no email and no sign-up — just add the keyboard and start typing.
Does it work inside other apps?
Yes. Switch to AI Keyboard with the 🌐 key in any app, type in your language and tap ✦ to replace your text with the translation.
Which languages are supported?
Two different numbers. You can type in eighteen keyboard layouts — Ukrainian, English, German, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, French, Turkish, Indonesian, Dutch, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese (Pinyin), Korean, Thai and Vietnamese. And you can translate into 51 languages, including Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Hebrew, Persian, Bengali, Greek, Swahili and more. The source language is detected automatically; you choose the target.
Do I need an API key?
Not for on-device translation or AI Keyboard Pro. Bringing your own key from Gemini, Groq, Cerebras, OpenRouter, Z.AI or Mistral is an extra free option if you want it. A paid OpenAI key works too.
Was AI Translator Keyboard previously called Geminate?
Yes. Geminate was renamed AI Translator Keyboard in August 2026. AI Keyboard was also used as a shorter product name. The publisher, app and core translation product remain the same.
Is there an Android version?
Yes. AI Keyboard is on Google Play now, alongside the iPhone version — the same translate-as-you-type keyboard on both.
